JY-15 Parts (Free due to tornado)

I have some JY-15 parts that, unlike my hull and mast, survived a tornado in May 2025 at Grandview Lake in south-central Indiana.

These parts are for those who are desperate to keep their JY-15 in service since the JY-15 is out of production and the parts are not generally available. If you can find these parts from a commercial source, please do so. Although they are being offered for free, you will be responsible for picking up the larger items, or for small items. accepting COD shipment.   To prevent opportunists from taking advantage of this to re-sell, I will ask some questions prior to agreeing to let them go.   And since I will not give out my contact information you will have to go through the lot owners association to have an initial contact with me.  To do so, see the "contact us" item in the port column of the web version of this blog.  Sorry for the hoops to jump through, but I am avoiding trolls and reserving these for the truly needy.

Here is a list:

- JY-15 Boom

-JY-15 Rudder with pin

-JY-15 Rudder Pin ( an extra)

-JY-15 Rudder handle and extension

-JY-15 Spreader bars (disconnected from the metal plate that they were attached to)

-JY-15 Cover- (one year old) - "Sailor's Tailor".  You'll need to scrub it clean. It has a 6 inch long rip that can easily be patched.  Also, the shock cord for the  hem was cut in one very accessible place and  needs to be "bull-ring"ed back together (shouldn't be hard).

There are some metal parts screwed to the hull that I have not taken off.  Act fast, because the hull is headed for the landfill soon.  If you want the centerboard, you'll have to remove it yourself.

DO NOT INQUIRE ABOUT GENERIC SAILBOAT HARDWARE (Harken cleats as an example) THAT YOU COULD EASILY OBTAIN ELSEWHERE.

Note:  Although this post was manually assigned a post-date of 2023, it was actually posted in August 2025.
