Sympathy to Voelz Family on Passing of Founding GYC Member Phyllis Voelz

Phyllis M. Voelz died on May 23, 2019 at the age of 91. She and husband Joe who died in 2017 were one of several founding couples of the GYC fifty eight years ago.  During those years Joe and Phyllis’ family has become a sailing dynasty here at Grandview.  Joe was a champion sailor, winning all of GYC’s various trophies and serving as its commodore, all with support from Phyllis.

We are grateful to them for helping found the club and make it such an important part of the Grandview Lake community.  As you know, their son,  Jim, wife Peggy, and their daughter Laura are still regularly winning sailing trophies and championships, and make Grandview Lake a great place.  We extend our heart-felt sympathy to the whole family.
